Sentence for Stanford Swimmer Sparks Outrage Brock Turner, a former Stanford University swimmer, receives six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman in January 2015. The announcement on June 2, 2016, meets with public outcry; many consider it far too lenient. He was convicted in March of three felony counts of sexual assault, which carries a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. Clara County Superior Court judge, Aaron Persky sentences him to six months in jail sentence with probation and mandatory registration as a sex offender.
