Medics Reach Boys Trapped in Cave
On July 3, medics reached the 12 soccer players and their coach in the Thai cave. The team was given food and medical assistance after going ten days without it. Rescuers are still attempting to brainstorm the best way out of the cave. Rain is in the forecast, creating a possibility of flooding. (BBC)

Two More Poisoned by Nerve Agent
On July 4, it was announced that the two people found unconscious in London days before had been exposed to the same nerve agent used on the ex-Russian spy in March. The attack is still under investigation. (CNN)

Firework Blast Kills 19 in Mexico City
On July 4, two firework workshop explosions killed 19 people and injured dozens more. Sales and manufacturing of fireworks in the area have been suspended. (Reuters)

First Boys Emerge from the Thai Cave
First Boys Emerge from the Thai Cave
On July 8, 4 of the 12 boys trapped in the cave in Thailand emerged. The operation is on hold to refill the oxygen tanks, but will continue. The authorities are still racing against the rains. The rescued boys appear to have no critical injuries, but have been taken to a hospital. (CNN)

All Rescued from the Thai Cave
On July 10, the remaining boys and coach left in the cave were rescued. All are currently recovering in a hospital, as parents are finally allowed to visit their children. Officials say the boys will most likely be quarantined due to their weakened immune systems. (CNN)

Attack in Afghan City of Jalalabad
On July 11, gunmen attacked an education department office in Jalalabad. The attack led to a four hour standoff with security forces and left ten people dead. This is the third major attack in less than two weeks in Jalalabad. (Reuters)

On July 13, a train derailed in Egypt, injuring at least 58 people. Most of the injuries are minor. (Reuters)

Bomb Attack on Pakistan Election Rally
On July 13, a suicide bomber killed 128 people and wounded over 150 at a Pakistani election rally. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. (Reuters)

Shooting in Toronto
On July 22, a gunman opened fire in Toronto, killing 2 people and injuring 12 others. The gunman has been reported dead, though it is not clear whether it was from a self-inflicted wound or from police. A motive for the attack has not been identified. (CNN)

Mosque Bombing in Nigeria
On July 23, 8 people were killed after a bomb went off in a Nigerian mosque. Seven other people have been injured by the suicide bomb. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. (CNN)

Dam Collapse in Laos
On July 24, a dam collapsed in Laos, stranding 3,000 people in nearby villages. At least 19 people died from the flooding, but rescuers have safely removed the 3,000 who were stranded. (Reuters)
