Carphone Warehouse Fined by Britain

In 2015, a cyber attack on Carphone Warehouse jeopardized the private information of 3 million customers. On January 10, Britain’s information regulator announced that Carphone Warehouse would be fined $539,400 (400,000 pounds). (Reuters)

OnePlus Credit Card Hack

OnePlus Credit Card Hack

Nearly 40,000 people have had their credit card information stolen from the site OnePlus. The company revealed on January 19 that the attack occurred mid-November and lasted until January 11 after the hackers found a loophole in the payment system. (BBC)

NASA Removes Astronaut from Mission

Jeanette Epps, who would have been the first African-American astronaut assigned to the ISS crew, was removed from her mission on January 19. NASA did not provide a reason to the press, and states that Epps will be considered for missions in the future. (BBC)
