It’s a remake of the ’70s thriller starring Michael Caine as a seedy gangster that aspires toward homage, but belongs in the category of Mel Gibson’s recent Payback. Much like the Gibson vehicle,Get Carter clothes its star in bruised blues and grays and a dreary, pointless script involving vengeance, thugs, prostitutes, and grimy action.
