Two widowed matriarchs, Amanda Wyatt (Ann-Margret) and Carlota Alvarez (Braga), rule their sprawling Southwestern roost in the aftermath of their husbands’ tragic deaths. CBS is attempting a Dallas for the ’90s with this tale of a racially diverse town that faces “changing times.” But some things never change: ranch life still breeds scandalous relationships, backstabbing sons and daughters and corrupt town officials.
