Without her knowing, suave Adam romances each of her sisters, from the bookishly romantic Laura (Frances O’Connor) to married Alice (Charlotte Bradley). Heck, even their straight brother receives a perplexing hormonal surge when Adam’s around. About Adam is the opposite of a heavy film. Stuart’s compulsive lying is treated so lightly that the film seems to cheer on his deceptions. Morals aside, Adam caters to the fantasies of each character and ostensibly leaves them better off for it.
