Short could use his own fairy godmother in this slight film. Anabel Greening (Wilson) wishes for a fairy godmother to help her widowed dad, Oliver (Pastorelli), get a break on Broadway. The North American Fairy Godmothers Association sends her a clunker in Murray (Short), the group’s flunkie, who flubs his first assignment and turns Oliver into stone. To complicate matters, godmother-turned-witch Claudia (Turner) has stolen all the other godmothers’ wands.
